I was upstairs, just about to answer Dawnie when I heard the phone ring. Who could that be at 10 in the morning? I told Dawn I'd be back as I ran down the stairs. I went into the kitchen and picked up the phone. I put a piece of my hair behind my ear as I recognized who it was.
"Hello? Angel? Hi." I was a bit confused. Why would he be calling? About Buffy I'm sure.
Willow had went to her room I was guessing to get some clothes and probably organize some things. I had changed into a new outfit. Something simple. Jeans, tank top and jacket. Nothing to exciting. I grabbed a brush and put my hair up into a pony tail.
I was going to see the gang for the first time since the funeral. Well minus Spike and now Willow. But other then those two I haven't seen anyone else. I have to be strong so even if things aren't going to be like they were before we just gotta be strong. That's what Buffy wanted. God if she knew that I have basically been moping around since it happened she would....well I don't know what she would think of it.
I then heard the phone ringing. I looked at it for a moment. Whose calling? The phone calls had stopped after awhile. I walked over to the phone and just looked at it. As if I had never seen one. I shook my head. I bet it's those people who just hound ya for money. Oh well...guess it's time to face the music. That or those Children service people....I think I would rather deal with the money people. I picked up the phone.
I was about to say hello when I heard Willow on the other end. I was going to hang up the phone but I heard Willow say Hello Angel. So how could I hang up now. Why was Angel calling? He hadn't called since Willow told Angel. And why was Willow answering the phone? She hadn't been around since Buffy...since it happened. Oh well that is not as important as to why Angel was calling. So I kept my hand over the mic and listened.
"Hello? Angel? Hi."
I let out a sigh when Willow answered the phone. She was probably the best person to talk to right now. Xander.. well, I just didn't really want to talk to him, and Dawn.. well.. I wasn't sure how I would go about telling her.
"Hey, Willow." I paused for a minute.. still unsure how exactly to say this.
"Willow.. I'm not sure how to say this.." Alright, just come out with it. "It's about Buffy." There was silence on the other end of the line when I mentioned Buffy.
"She's here, Willow. Buffy's.. alive."
I was still really confused when I realized it was Angel on the other line. But all of that cleared up pretty fast after he said Buffy's name.
I paused. After he said she was alive, I was like frozen in time.
"W-what?" was all I could get out at first. "How? You mean, she's there with you?" Tears started forming in my eyes again. I don't understand. How is Buffy back? And why? We didn't bring her back.
I sniffed and wiped tears that had just fallen down my face.
"A-angel. Explain this to me."
I listened to Angel talk. He sounded weird....well weirder then usual. He has something to tell Willow so why doesn't he come out with it already. I hope it doesn't involve anymore death. I had have enough of that for...ever. I didn't know a lot of Angel's team but I have heard lots about them and saw them at the funeral. I hope they were okay. There was Cordy, Wes and I knew them the best well aside from Angel cause they were both here to.
I continued to listen. Even if for a few minutes it was just breathing..coming from Willow since Angel is kinda lacking in that area.
He finally spoke up. It was about Buffy...what how? She was gone. I know this. For the longest time I didn't want to believe it but she is gone. So how can this conversation be about Buffy. I continued to listen holding back from yelling into the phone at Angel for making such a sick joke. I thought he loved her.
He then started telling Willow that Buffy was alive...not only that but she was here. Well not here as in here but here with Angel.
I think I fell over and had dropped the phone when Angel said that. How was it possible. And why was she there. Buffy died I know this.....Wow anything really is possible here.
I had no idea what to say. Plus if I said anything they would know that I was listening...well I am sure if they heard the phone drop they would know someone was on the other line.
"W-what? How? You mean, she's there with you? A-angel. Explain this to me."
I stopped for a minute after Willow asked me to tell her how it happened. I had no idea what to tell her. For one, I didn't know how it happened.. it just did. And also, how was I supposed to tell her.
When I finally started to speak, something sounded as if the phone dropped. "Willow, you there?" She acknowledged that she was, so I finally went on.
"I was in another dimension with the crew rescuing Cordelia," Wow. That was a whole different story. "And right as we were leaving there was this noise and some force of engery that made me fall to the ground. The next thing I knew when I turned around was I saw her standing a little ways away. So, I brought her back with us to LA and I left her asleep in my room."
There was a pause after I finished talking. I guess I could have expected that. I probably wouldn't have believed me either.
I was having a bit of trouble trying to take all of this in. Buffy was back. I can't understand how or why, but Angel said she was. And this was Angel. Why would he lie about something this serious. I knew he was telling the truth, although it was kind of hard to believe at the time.
I heard a loud clunk on the other end, and Angel thought it was me, but it wasn't. I froze. Oh god. That would mean Dawn had been on the other line..listening to this. I put my face in my hands, and sighed deeply.
"So, Angel. Your telling me that Buffy is alive, and there with you? When she wakes up, could we maybe talk to her? If shes up to it." I still couldn't believe it. I needed some proof. Anything that would tell me Buffy was really alive.
There was a long pause on the other end of the line. I could tell that she was trying to take all of this in. I knew it wouldn't be easy for her at all, but she still needed to get herself together for whenever I brought Buffy back to Sunnydale.
"So, Angel. Your telling me that Buffy is alive, and there with you? When she wakes up, could we maybe talk to her? If shes up to it."
I nodded, not really sure why, but I did. "Yes.. that's what I'm saying. And yes, whenever she wakes up I'll ask her if she feels like talking. If not, I'll call you when we leave for Sunnydale.. which should be in the next day or so."
I listened to Angel and just tried to stay calm and focused. Buffy was alive..again. She was back. How could this be? I am so confused. But happy too..shes back. Buffy's back, shes really back.
"Okay, we'll be waiting for her. And I'll tell the others too. Ad someone will have to get a hold of Giles. He's in England again." I frowed. I guess that would have to be me.
"Okay, just call us again. Thanks Angel."
"Okay, we'll be waiting for her. And I'll tell the others too. Ad someone will have to get a hold of Giles. He's in England again."
God, Giles. I hadn't even thought about contacting him. Guess that would be a good idea. He was her Watcher, after all. Willow sounded as if she started to take this all in.
"Okay, just call us again. Thanks Angel."
"Alright, Willow. I'll be sure to call you later. And.. you're welcome."
I wanted to ask her if she knew if there was a way that this was possible. Had she or any one of them done a spell? I decided that this was something I could ask later when I took Buffy back to Sunnydale.
